Welcome! Thank You For Visiting Our Site.
Our Mission Statement...To see the needs and to help wherever and however I can, making sure always to give God the glory and the credit.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before hand that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:8-10 (NKJV)

Louise, Mike, and Larry with
can number 100,000!
Well folks, we're done.
Grand total as of Sep 7, 2010
502,530!!!!
Here's can number 500,000!!!
(received from Dave and Margie Moffis this morning (Sept. 6th 2010)
Congratulations guys - thanks and God bless you!!
Everybody else - thanks to Mike and Louise Sardo and George Hutchings for allowing us to be a blessing. Thanks to all the family, friends, the "anonymous", folks at 1st Baptist Church in Arnold, and others who helped us get the numbers we saw by saving and donating cans to us. We merely picked them up, recycled them, and gave the cash to the Jefferson County Rescue Mission in Pevely (Mike and Louise), and to the "soleman" George who does such wonderful things in Africa and other places (digging fresh water wells) Last but obviously the most important -Thank you GOD for opening the blessing to us and for helping us all along. (Love you LORD!!!)

The 100,000th can!!!

Here it is!
August 19, 2008
Can # 250,000!
(We're 1/4 of the way there!)
Sept. 3rd, we had cans totaling 499,995. Went to pick up Margie and Dave's cans but didn't tell them until they pulled them out one at a time! (Sure was neat).
August 23, 2010 - Man oh man.....these can collections are growing so fast near the end. I know that very quickly the can totals will reach the 500,000 mark. The good side of it all is I will have so many good memories - many are listed here in the webpage. The very bottom of this page will tell you how it took us 4 years and 4 months to get the first 250,000 cans and now it's going to be just a week or two over 2 years ro reach another 250,000 cans for a total of 500,000!!!! I'm a little sad, (not much), 'cause I know, that I know, that I know it's within HIS will, so this part is easy: God bless each and every one of you SO much for helping us, with aluminum cans, and scrap metal hauling too. - Larry
Friends and family,
It's been on my heart off and on that my time in doing this aluminum "mission" is coming to an end. I spoke with Mike and Louise on Aug 13, 2010. Even though my original goal was 1,000,000 - it's been feeling like when I get to the 500,000th can that it's enough. I prayed to the Lord as soon as I left the Rescue Mission this morning, and got an immediate response to my heart. I feel strongly that the Lord is saying "you've done well and it's time and ok to stop." "Going to 500,000 is ok". I'm ok now with that decision. I thank God SO much in giving me this opportunity, and I've enjoyed it SO, SO much. Thank you all, and God bless you all for helping me with aluminum cans, and also calling me for scrap metal pick up. I feel like it's time now to concentrate on my immediate family, and to use my efforts to help things there. As soon as I get the 500,000th can, I'll take a picture, post it, and we're done here. Again, God bless you all, especially my wife Kathy. We just talked and she understands. Love you all, Larry
Noel, a dear friend and computer expert has gotten my new webpage running. (To remind, it used to be CansforChrist.net. Somehow it disappeared, and we couldn't get it back.) 07/13/2010, I had some totals to update, and Thank God for him. He found me a "CansforChrist.com", and has transferred everything for me. He is such a nice guy and a miracle for me, as a computer expert. God bless you Noel, and thanks!!
My driving again was approved back the first part of May, (due to brain surgery), and my health is a miracle. I'm hoping and praying the aluminum cans, the scrap metal, and the numbers that follow get much better than the start of 2010. Larry
(June 14th-20th 2009) I had the privilege of working with "Carpenters for Christ" out of Harvester Baptist Church and a couple from my church (Starling Road Baptist, in Arnold); John and Diana Harwell. Together we helped build a youth center in Miner Mo. at Miner Baptist church. It was a GREAT time of fellowship, and though I was exhausted and sore at the end of the week, what a great feeling to do God's work. This was my first Mission trip, and what a blessing. Special thanks to Bob Weeks, and the crew from Harvester as well as their church for allowing me to go and participate! Larry
How to get a hold of us via e-mail:
gonebassn@aol.com
I've eliminated the other email, because it's causing confusion, and I don't check it as often. Unfortunately, I've missed out on some appliances and other scrap donations, as a result. So, for a timely response, please email me at the above address. Thanks, and God bless all who help us with our vision, whether it be cans, appliances, or scrap metal. It's all helping to serve those who need it, and I hope, (in some small way), furthering the kingdom of God.

We've now given over $7400 in contributions, thanks to all our friends, neighbors, and businesses who collect with us. Who would have believed it? All from collecting cans! God bless one and all.

Cans For Christ Totals
$7403.14 given; $6085.31 to the Rescue Mission, and $1317.83 to Eagle Wings. Total cans are now at 502,530 cans.
2010 totals: $740.87 ($595.87 given to JC Rescue Mission) ($145.00 to"Shoeman" George Hutchings)
Totals are much less than last year, due to several surgeries, and inability to drive or walk much, in the begining. God has taken over again and we got what he wanted us to. Thanks and God bless you all.
Jan-Dec 2009: $1619.12 - $1271.62 to JC Rescue Mission and $347.50 to EagleWings.
Jan-Dec 2008: $2014.73 - $1704.03 to JC Rescue Mission and $310.70 to Eagle Wings.
Jan-Dec 2007: $1762.90 - $1255.91 to JC Rescue Mission and $506.99 to Eagle Wings
April 04, when we first began, thru Dec 06, we gave a total of $1301.16 (This is when we did it ourselves and kept it to ourselves, remembering Ephesians 2: 8-10). After praying about it, God touched my heart and led me to let others know about the can collecting, because I was not bragging or taking credit. It gave others a chance to be a part of the blessing, and look at the difference: way more in a sole year, (2008), than previous versus two and a half years! Thank you Jesus!)
1,000,000 was the long term goal, in the beginning. (We changed it recently after praying to God to 500,000) - We're very close, Praise the Lord!
